The Final Product
Finally, an Internet presence for a campaign is vital. With a custom web design and by working closely with your campaign, we will build a website that voters will visit not only for campaign information, but also to organize and contribute.
Our websites are based on Content Management Systems. This means that any member of your staff can go into the website and quickly publish a news story, edit content, or promote an upcoming fundraiser without knowing any computer code at all. It would be just like typing an email. Yet, building the website is very important and it is necessary to have a web developer set up the framework for the website and to have them add in all the necessary campaign tools, such as Tell a Friend, Donate, Volunteer Sign Up, etc. and to track where all your visitors are coming from, to optimize your presence on the Internet.

The Most Powerful Voter Database on Staten Island..
(Did we mention that it comes with a brand new Apple iMac computer?)
The goal of imperium is to provide a simple, clean, yet powerful voter database for elected officials, political candidates, and organizations to use to better target and understand their constituency.
imperium is essentially a locally hosted website. This means that to use this database, you don't even need an internet connection. It works the same offline as online.
There is much to know about the over 200,000 registered voters on Staten Island and imperium attempts to provide all the relevant information on each voter, such as:
* Name
* Address
* Date of Birth
* Date of Voter Registration
* Year Last Voted
* Party Affiliation
* Gender
* Home Value
* Issues of Concern
* Ethnicity
* and more..
Every category can easily be searched. For example, if you would like to find all the Democrats of Eastern European descent in the 10301 zip code who are between the ages of 30 and 34 and did not vote in the last three election cycles, you can do that.
Efficiency is the keyword. imperium is not your standard voter database. It has broken down all of the registered voters on Staten Island into ten distinct groups. You can target these groups instead of targeting by zip code or by voter history and save time, money, and put those feet on the ground where they are needed most.
UPDATE
imperium is not your standard voter database. Not only does it provide each registered voter's address, it also provides the value of their household. Getting this feature into imperium has been a complicated process, so an early release of imperium should provide the household value for each voter, yet you must be connected to the Internet to view it. This is something that will be worked on in the next few days to make sure it's part of the imperium package.
From knocking on doors..
Canvassing neighborhoods is no longer the most efficient way to find voters. By combining computer software, Census data, and election returns, campaigns can now just look at a hi-res map and know where to focus their resources. The following examples are based on the 2006 Congressional results.
In the first example, the zip code 10303 is profiled. The light blue signifies that the majority of the zip code votes Democrat but the dark blue in the middle signifies that that neighborhood in particular votes Democrat. Therefore, it is more than likely that there are even more Democrat voters in that neighborhood alone. Notice the white area in 10302? That means that voters in that area were split. But how can two areas so close together be so different politically? The Census data can help you answer that question.
In this example, the zip code 10304 is profiled. This portion of the zip code usually votes Democrat but this time there is a strong base voting Republican with the rest of the area split. This area surrounds the expressway leading to the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. Could voters in this area have chosen Congressman Fossella due to the controversy over the elimination of the toll for the bridge?
..to crunching numbers
A carefully guarded algorithm that can effectively measure (within 2%+/-) the candidate's vote percentage before the campaign is even launched. This algorithm has computed the exact result of the last three Congressional races and the most recent City Council election in the 51st District. It is only applicable in races where there are only two candidates.
By taking into account the various attributes of a candidate and comparing them directly with the opposing candidate's, the result that is achieved is accurate as to which candidate would be able to appeal to the voters and receive their support.
One might bring up an objection that things can happen during a campaign that can sway the tide but this algorithm also takes that into consideration and is still able to produce an accurate result. Its one drawback is that it is not applicable in elections where more than two candidates are running for office. This algorithm applies to all of Staten Island but is even more accurate for the South Shore of Staten Island.
Numerical values, which are assigned to these attributes, are run through the algorithm and provide an accurate representation of the vote percentage the candidate can expect to receive on Election Day - before the campaign is even launched.
